Raven Tor three ringed cairn is an unusual 3 ring cairn is located above Fallinge Edge and is difficult to find due to the surrounding heather. It involves a fairly strenuous trek to it and a gps is recommended.
The three cairns are reasonably the same size and in an East/West line. According to Barnatt in ‘Henges, Stone Circles And Ringcairns Of The Peak District‘ the easternmost cairn was built first and is defined by a kerb of upright slabs, the central one abutted the eastern one and when excavated was found to have two kerbs set approximately 1 metre apart. The western cairn abutted the central one and was the last to be built.
