Hazard mine was largely removed by opencasting in the late 1990’s and the opencuts were backfilled it was one of the major mines of the area.

Vague remains of a walled gin circle which has mostly been removed. There is a deep engine shaft which is grilled and a small part of the belland yard wall still in existence. There are a few remaining adjacent hillocks.
The shaft had a depth of nearly 700 feet in the 1830’s, when some 5000 tons of lead ore was gained.
