John Ryle, a local Silk Merchant built the pub in 1813. It closed Christmas Eve 2014, was taken over by a local family and became Forest Distillery – the UK’s highest altitude distillery.


The camera, situated at a height of 330 metres (1092 feet), above sea level, looks South-from Brierlow Bar, up the A515 towards the junction with the A5270 Coalpit Lane.









Derbyshire Soaring Club – One of the largest hang gliding and paragliding clubs in the UK, the DSC is based in the heart of the Peak District. They have several sites – DSC Site Guide. The Webcams are updated every 10 minutes – hit ‘refresh’ to make sure you have the most up to date image (see timestamp bottom right).







Hanging Gate, Higher Sutton
The Hanging Gate – A Historic Country Pub Near Macclesfield overlooking the hills of Higher Sutton, just 3 miles south east of Macclesfield. The second highest pub in Cheshire with views across the Cheshire Plain.

WIRKSWORTH – At the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway there are four webcams.
Wirksworth is a historic market town in the Derbyshire Dales, England, known as a “Hidden Gem of the Peak District”
Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, was established in 1992.
Since 1992, WyvernRail has had to overcome numerous obstacles; the directors have faced losing the line altogether and have had to work tirelessly to restore the railway to become the success story it is today: the longest heritage line in Derbyshire where everyone is welcome.
